Commercial Building Exterior Cleaning and Pressure Washing in Williamsport, Pennsylvania

This commercial building washing project in Williamsport, Pennsylvania involved removing staining on the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Williamsport. This was a fantastic commercial pressure washing project that required a JLG Compact Crawler Boom from Best Line equipment. We had approximately 7’ of space between two commercial properties and the narrow footprint of the lift made access easy and manageable. This project was most challenging because it required cleaning and pressure washing at heights of nearly 50’.

We started early with establishing our safety perimeter, setting up appropriate signage, and securing the area to ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). With the lift in place, we began by prewetting and applying a mild detergent. Due to the large area to be cleaned, we worked in sections to ensure no soaps dried on the surface. Our client was primarily concerned about removing the dark black streaks that were composed of both organic and inorganic substances. This type of project was a two-step process that required a mild pressure washing to agitate the surface and safely remove the stain. The surfaces were a painted stucco and brick, which are both very porous making cleaning more difficult. By prewetting the surface, soaping from the bottom to the top of the building, and rinsing from the top down, we were able to successfully complete this project in a safe and timely manner that did not affect the daily operation of the hotel.
